Product Info: Features and Benefits
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion offers continuous protection from pathogens for 4 hours, from chemicals for 6 hours. Does not wash off and no need to re-apply after hand washing. Increases compliance with hand washing policy. Cost = 1¢ per hour of protection. Saves money: Reduce nosocomical infections. Reduce glove consumption by eliminating need for gloves in low risk areas, and when used under gloves. Reduce treatment and compensation costs for occupational dermatitis. Can replace antibacterial soaps and other harsh hand care products. Reduces sick time (min 20%). Reduces liability.
Unlike non-polymer lotions, Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion actually prevents skin contact and absorption of most harsh chemicals (acids, solvents, cleaning agents), latex protein and resin, biological fluids, water, and toxic and odorous compounds, continuously for at least 6 hours.
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion has a protective polymer that resists water and harsh chemicals while preserving skin’s natural bacteria, tactile sensitivity, wet-dry grip, and healing. The lotion can actually hasten healing; can be used as a "liquid band-aid." Rehabilitates "dry, red, chapped" hands.
The active agent in Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion is Triclosan, which kills infectious bacteria on skin within seconds, including MRSA, VRE, E.coli 0157:H7. (After 30 years of use in many products, there is no clinical evidence of bacterial resistance.) Hand-contact is implicated in 80% of common infections.
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion's polymer coating is dry in under a minute, which allows staff to return to their work three to four times sooner than slow-setting products, or multiple product systems.
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion is non-toxic, non-irritating to eyes, non-sensitizing, and non-transferable. It is scent-free, dye-free, and alcohol-free. Completely safe for children and for animals.
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion is Health Canada approved as OTC drugs with Drug Identification Number (DIN 02171651). Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Agri-Food Canada approved. The only DIN barrier lotions approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for use in food service areas.
Bio-Safe® Skin Shield™ lotion is patented in the United States #5,922,313 and #6,214,327; New Zealand patent #333,872; Australian patent #729,078; patented in Japan; and Canadian patent #2,265,774 pending.
