On behalf of the staff of the National Laboratory for Analytical
Cytology I am pleased to acknowledge the good experiece we had
with a product called SKIN SHIELD™ for over a three year period.
Our laboratory is working with infectious agents on regular bases;
the constant use of latex gloves seems to have some undesirable
effects even when it is not specific allergies related to latex. The
regular use of the barrier lotion we have purchased from you has been
extremely well tolerated by all laboratory staff.
SKIN SHIELD™ seems to minimize contact dermatitis and other
complications related to frequent washing of hands and frequent use of
latex gloves. We wanted to address the problems related to the repeated removal
of contaminated and installation of clean gloves provides. This situation we consider
a further opportunity to carryover contamination/infection. While our practice is not based on documented evidence, never the less the use of the barrier lotion gives our staff an additional safety factor that is always an asset in such a stressful biohazardous environment.
